In her latest body of work, Royals, Jeanette Hayes continues to address and explore the traditional preservation of non-traditional technological imagery through painting, video, drawing and embroideries. A play on royalty and celebrity and the strength of women is woven throughout these works.

Jeanette Hayes (b. 1988) is a painter/multi media artist originally from Chicago who received a BFA from Pratt Institute. Her work addresses the traditional preservation of non-traditional technological imagery through her painting, video, photoshop work and internet collages. Hayes’ interests include cultural phenomena and the confrontation of conventionality and subject matter.

She has shown with Half Gallery, the Hole, Bleecker Street Arts Club, M&B Gallery, Motelsalieri, in April had a solo show with Castor gallery and most recently had a solo show in the home of Eva Livijn in Stockholm in November. Hayes has made animated GIFs and videos for Proenza Schouler, CHANEL, Alexander Wang and Opening Ceremony and has done an artist sponsorship with BlackBerry.

ID Magazine put her on their 30 under 30 list, Complex Magazine chose her as an artist to watch, the New York Times featured her in their first “Up Next” column and recently Interview magazine did an artist feature. In the last year Hayes has collaborated with Sing for Hope to make a piano for public display and also was chosen to make the artist book to accompany the fall 2015 Purple Magazine. Hayes has made several prints with Exhibition A and is currently working on a book that will be published by innen books. Jeanette Hayes lives and works in New York, New York.
